Fundamental Statistics

Fundamental statistics are used for the valuation of companies that have publicly traded shares. Several different fundamental statistics are used among analysts, traders or investors.

Topsheets provides these 4 fundamental statistics:

  • Price Book – This fundamental statistic is calculated by dividing the current closing price of the stock by the latest quarter’s book value per share.
  • Price Sales – This statistic indicates the value placed on each dollar of a company’s sales or revenues. It is calculated by dividing the stock price by sales per share for a 12-month period.
  • Trailing P/E – It’s calculated by taking the current stock price and dividing it by the trailing earnings per share (EPS) for the past 12 months.
  • Trailing Annual Dividend Yield – This statistic calculates the total dividends paid per common share of a firm for a 12-month period.
